Pizza Jackfruit BBQ Topping

INGREDIENTS (Serves 1-2)

  • 325gr Rootzz of Nature Jackfruit BBQ or original
  • 2 pizza bases
  • ½ onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 80ml sifted tomatoes (passata di pomodoro)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper
  • ½ red pepper
  • 4 cherry tomatoes (cut in half)
  • 2 tbsp (vegan) mozzarella
  • A hand full of rucola

Marinade* with use of Rootzz of Nature Jackfruit Original

  • 3 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup


StEp 1

With the use of Jackfruit Original: Rinse the jackfruit under the tap and drain well in a colander. Then carefully separate the jackfruit with your hands, so that threads are formed. Place the soy sauce with the maple syrup and 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika in an oven dish and stir well. Place the jackfruit in a bowl and let it marinate for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.

StEp 2

Chop the bell pepper and garlic finely and the onion into thin rings. Optional: cut the red pepper into thin rings. Mix the sifted tomatoes with 1 tsp smoked paprika powder and the garlic in a bowl. Stir well until a sauce forms.

StEp 3

Spread the pizza base with the sauce. Then cover the pizza base with the marinated jackfruit, onion, bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, red pepper and (vegan) mozzarella. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes.

StEp 4

Then garnish the pizza with arugula.
