pizza with barbecue jackfruit topping
INGREDIENTS (Serves 2 persons)
- 300 gram Rootzz of Nature Jackfruit Barbecue or Original
- ½ onion
- 1 Garlic clove
- 2 pizza bases
- 80 ml sieved tomatoes (passata di pomodoro)
Marinade: * when using Rootzz of Nature Jackfruit Original
- 3 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 4 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
When using the Jackfruit Original: Rinse the jackfruit under the tap and drain well in a colander. Then carefully separate the jackfruit with your hands, so that threads are formed. Put the soy sauce with the maple syrup and 2 teaspoons of smoked paprika powder in an oven dish and stir well. Place the jackfruit in a bowl and marinate for 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Chop the bell pepper and garlic finely and cut the garlic into thin rings. Optional: cut the red pepper into thin rings. Mix the sieved tomatoes with 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika and the garlic in a bowl. Stir well to form a sauce.
Spread the pizza crust with the sauce. Then cover the pizza base with the marinated jackfruit, onion, bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, red pepper and vegan mozzarella.
Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes.
Then garnish the pizza with arugula. Yummy, enjoy!
